Velvet

It's funny that my experience at Velvet last Saturday was not what I expected. Which wasn’t much really, cause what do you expect from a club right?

The whole night I was :
1.) mostly sitting my ass on the stool making sure our table and drinks remained untouched,
2.) babysitting this girl who doesn’t drink or dance, and
3.) taking care of LV bag(s) that others left with me.
The music was nice and all, but I wasn’t really into the mood to groove on the dance floor.

The bouncers there are actually pretty cool. Especially when they're not supposed to drink on the job but my friend who's actually quite a regular there offered them a drink, they accepted and sneakily hide when they're downing it. Their funny attics and attempt to dance on the stairs leading to the back exit is hilarious. They don’t act like bouncers after all. Without the coats, anyone would have mistaken them for a regular Joe having a good time at the club.

I'm not sure if the management replaced the bouncers, changed their recruitment policies, or just maybe the bouncers in Velvet on that day is different, but they are not what I read up on zoukabuse. I guess it goes to show that we shouldn’t be hasty in passing judgment without witnessing it first.

In my attempt to make small talk, I made someone cry that night. I'm such a bad person. Shouldn’t have asked about someone's past, especially if it involves sad memories that happened not too long ago. That’s not the only thing you see, I gave her a tissue to wipe her tears... and I only realize on the next day that I gave her a used tissue!!!

I hope she didn’t get rashes after that.
