We are .....

I read this on WoW's forum and all I can say is....Beautiful. If you need to ask what WoW is, then this blog entry probably wont make any sense to you.

Anyway, the forum's moderator didnt stick the post, so I thought I'd post this in my blog coz it's so well written. Kudos to Rhyll from Whisperwind for writing it. The following is an excerpt from part of the post :

The Druid Manifesto
.....
.....
We are the class who's player understands what he must do to survive, and to ensure the survival of those around him.
We are the core around which wise groups understand they can flex their strategy.
We are the line in the sand that marks the survival of our compatriots.
We are caretakers, supporters, keepers of life; we see not to one class, but to all.
We may be targeted because we heal, hated because we run, laughed at because we lack the killing fury of other classes. But we are loved by those who are on our side for what we provide them.

The druid stands alone, needing none, supporting all, becoming the oil that makes the machine run smoothly.

Do not overlook us, our abilities exist to make you better.

Do not complain to us, for we were still the red-headed stepchildren when you were already 60.
Do not forget that we are more than healbots, mana batteries, or combat rezzers.
Do not underestimate us, for our trials in surviving and thriving have made us strong and capable.
Our abilities force us to play better, to use them all and be ready to do the unusual when it is called for.
Our forms may seem powerless, but give us the tools to continue our support even when our own protection drops.

We are the shield when the warrior falls.

We are the shadow when the rogue is dead.

We are the arcane when the mage is doomed.

We are the healer when the priest has no more to give.

We are the specialized hybrid, the ultimate role-player on the team, the rare, odd duck who can forsake the greatness in those roles in order to survive.
We are there watching, waiting, ready to take up the slack and contribute in ways that only we can.
We are the last hope when all else fails.

We are the druid.

Today, the title doesnt matter

This is not my-usual feel good post.

I've never felt so much fear before in my entire life. The nearest to what I felt today was probrably when I was a kid, just before giving my parents the disciplinary letter that my teacher asked me to get them to sign on it. Soon after the fear subsides only to be replaced by searing pain when the cane lands on my butt.

Today, reality hit me hard in the face. The make-believe-all-rosy-illusion of my new job was shattered. I've come to realization that my new job is not something I enjoy. I've come to understand why I dread waking up and going to work. I've come to understand why my sub-conscious mind refuse to let my body wake up to the sound of the morning alarm cloak.

I hate my job, not because of the nature of the job, not because of the people I'm working with, but...because I suck in it. 4 months in my new department but still there are things that I do but I dont understand at all. 4 months passed and there's still financial terms and issues that I still dont comprehend. And coz of that, I end up with crappy results.

Today, my boss say things that reflected my job performance. It wasnt really nice to hear. Being shouted at in a normally quiet office is not something you want to face especially when your everyone is listening to the hurtful comments. You know what's worst? That in the end, everything he said is the truth. That was when, reality sank in.

And I was scared. So unsure of what I should do next.

I really suck in Finance.

I feel like giving in my resignation letter. Actually I was typing it till I realize what I loser I would be to quit now. I believe that if I left a mess behind, I should STAY BEHIND and clean up. That why I started typing this entry instead of my resignation letter.

I'm not out of the woods yet. There's a meeting with the customer tomorrow. Anymore complains and I wont need worry about typing that resignation letter anymore, coz my boss will be telling me to pack up instead.

Like it or not, everyone's a Taxi Driver

You know, most people never gave much thought bout how much time they actually spend driving to work. I know it's something unavoidable, unless you stay at your workplace which is of course kinda sad. Anyway, I was thinking about it this morning while driving and out of curiousity when I reach my office, I did a simple calculation of the amount of time I spent on the road in a year.

30 mins to work, 30 mins back
1 day = 1 hour
1 week = 5 hours
1 month = 20 hours
1 year = 240 hours

Wahliao, 240 hours? Aint that like 10 days straight of driving non-stop? This whole thing got me even more curious so I decided to find out how much time I waste just driving to work till I marry a rich chick till I retire.

Considering that I started work at the age of 22 and am gonna retired at 55 (unless I strike lotery and retired earlier) that means I'm gonna work for 33 years...which roughly translates to...

7920 hours!! = 330 days!!!

OMFG it's like driving for 330days NON-STOP. That's close to A YEAR of sitting in the car and getting caught in the jam. Like that I might as well be a Taxi Driver!! Somore got chance to overcharge famous blogger from Singapore. =P

That's it, I'm gonna call up the Union and get a petition up in place for 2 working days per week. =)

Innocence of a 3 year old

I have 2 nephews. They are so cute and innocent. They say the darnest things that really crack me up. This was a conversation my mom had with the youngest one :

Nephew : Popo, I just realise that the girls (in his nusery) got no kukujiao (penis)
Mom : ...
Nephew : Yah, they only got backside but no kukujiao. Me and korkor (his older brother) got both backside and kukujiao
Mom : How you found out one?
Nephew : No. Me and KorKor can stand up and shi-shi (piss), but the girls have to sit down. Then only I know they got no kukujiao.
Mom : ...wah you so smart ar?
Nephew : PoPo, why they got no kukujiao?
Mom : Because they are females lor.
Nephew : What is females?
Mom : Females is the opposite of males. You and korkor are males. Popo, mommy and other girls are females.
Nephew : Then you got no kukujiao lor?
Mom : ...

Employee of the month

I should be :
1.) Chasing the sales dept for collection
2.) Doing my monthly finance report
3.) Replying emails

Instead, I'm :
1.) Reading blogs
2.) Spamming nonsense on people's tagboard
3.) ...and praying to God that my boss doesnt read my blog.

Employee of the month? Yeah rittteee.

Speaking of which, we managed to collect RM 26.5mil out of the targeted RM 31.5mil for August. A 84% is quite an achievement if you ask me. Of course, I didnt managed that alone, it was a group effort...eventho I like to think I did it all by myself.

Ok, I need to close all my explorer windows and continue with my reports...
